Role Overview
WEEMA International is seeking an IT and Hotline Support Specialist to provide technical support for the organization’s digital platforms and tools. This role includes troubleshooting IT hardware issues, maintaining web applications, and ensuring the smooth operation of digital resources that support WEEMA’s programs. The ideal candidate should have experience in IT support, web maintenance, and strong communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide prompt IT support for hardware(Computers, printers, photocopiers, etc.), web applications, and digital tools.
- Web Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep and smooth operation of WEEMA’s webapplications.
- Deployment Support: Help ensure updates and new features are deployed without service interruptions.
- Database Assistance: Support the management of WEEMA’s data systems to ensure reliability.
- User Training & Support: Provide guidance and create user-friendly materials to help staff effectively use digital tools.
- System Monitoring: Identify and resolve technical issues proactively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with different teams to align IT solutions with program needs.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of web technologies and IT troubleshooting.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Good proficiency in English (written and verbal) to support non-technical staff.
- Teamwork & Adaptability: Ability to work in a multicultural setting and support diverse teams.
- Education: A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in IT support within NGOs or development organizations.
- Familiarity with digital tools for non-profit work.
- Knowledge of local Ethiopian languages is an asset
