Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements IYA/Kefeta in Adama, Bishoftu and four sub cities in Addis Ababa Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youths who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity.
Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements the Integrated Youth Activity/Kefeta program in Adama, Bishoftu, and four sub-cities in Addis Ababa. Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youths who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity. Kefeta will strengthen the youth ecosystem in Ethiopia with integrated, multi-sectoral, youth-centered programming aligned with the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach.
Job Summary
Youth Friendly Health Service (YFHS) provider involves providing medical care, counseling, and support services tailored to adolescents and young adults. Responsibilities may include conducting health assessments, diagnosing and treating illnesses or injuries, offering reproductive health education, counseling on substance abuse or mental health issues, and referring clients to specialized services when necessary. They may also collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and community organizations development, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication skills to engage with young clients and their families.to promote youth wellness and prevent health problems. Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Youth friendly health service to Youth age groups at service outlet/service delivery point.

Conduct proper health assessments and screening for adolescents and young adults.

Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and health conditions specific to young people.

Provide counseling and support service for VCT, psychosocial support, rehabilitation, substance abuse, and reproductive health concern.

Provide Health education and guidance on topics such as sexual reproductive health, contraception, and health life style choice.

Collaborate with other health care professionals, peer educators/peer mentors, and community organizations to address youth health needs.

Advocate for youth wellness and preventive healthcare measures.
-
Maintain accurate and confidentiality for medical records and documentation.
-
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and effective communication skills when working with diverse youth populations and their families.
-
Refer cases with justifiable diagnoses and follow up on the progress of the patient/client on the update.

Facilitate linkage within the health center and other health service spots outside the positioned center as well as strive to work on establishing a partnership with stakeholders.

 Updated information regarding YFS and SRH within YNSD communication line and respective stakeholders.

Incorporatethe values and approaches of YFS practically.

Follow up, document, and report stock out medications.

Proper handling of expired products and medications.

Encode and submit real time data in to the DHIS 2 after service provision.

Submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports within timeline.

Meeting with youth, to discuss their vision toward their health plans
-
Conduct assessments and participate in outreach programs when required.

Synthesize assessments and outline major findings and recommendations on ways forward
-
Actively engage in and contribute to the different consultation meetings, forums, and internal discussion.

Facilitate and Develop project Success story and lesson learn.

Undertake other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience: BSc in public health, Midwifery, Nursing and related fields with minimum of 2 years’ experience in the area of SRH/YFHS.

Strong oral and written communication skills in Amharic, English, and other local languages.Â
