Position Overview/Scope of role:Â Â Â Â
The Senior Price Analyst plays a strategic role in driving the company’s profitability and competitive edge by developing and implementing data-driven pricing models and strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, financial modeling, and competitor intelligence to deliver insightful pricing recommendations that support business growth. Acting as a key partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product Development, the Senior Price Analyst applies advanced analytics to assess pricing performance, forecast market reactions, and fine-tune strategies to optimize revenue, margins, and customer retention. The position also supports the development of a robust pricing governance framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance with corporate objectives.
Top Roles and Responsibilities: Â Â Â Â
Pricing Strategy Development:

Design, implement, and refine short-term and long-term pricing strategies that align with business goals and enhance profit margins.

Build and continuously improve pricing models and algorithms based on customer segments, product value, demand elasticity, and cost structures.

Simulate pricing scenarios to assess potential revenue, volume, and margin outcomes.

Integrate pricing strategies with product lifecycle management, promotions, and value positioning.

Develop dynamic pricing approaches where applicable (e.g., volume-based, time-based, customer-based).
Market and Competitor Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive market intelligence, including competitor benchmarking, product pricing comparisons, and trend forecasting.

Monitor industry movements, macroeconomic indicators, customer preferences, and emerging threats to inform proactive pricing decisions.

Provide regular strategic insights and presentations to the executive team regarding competitive pricing behavior and market shifts.

Recommend pricing changes to stay ahead of the competition while maintaining brand positioning.
Data Analytics and Reporting:

Analyze large, complex data sets (sales trends, margins, elasticity, regional differences) to derive actionable pricing insights.

Develop and maintain dashboards, pricing KPIs, and performance tracking tools using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.

Collaborate with data teams to enhance pricing analytics infrastructure and improve data accuracy and accessibility.

Evaluate the ROI of pricing strategies and conduct post-implementation analysis to ensure objectives are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as a strategic advisor to Sales, Marketing, and Finance on all matters related to pricing and profitability.

 Collaborate with product and brand teams to integrate pricing with product positioning and go-to-market strategies.

Work with Finance and Commercial heads to understand cost dynamics, budget constraints, and margin targets.

Ensure cohesive alignment between pricing, promotion planning, and customer relationship management.
Customer Behavior and Impact Analysis:

Build predictive models to analyze customer response to price changes, promotions, and discounting strategies.

 Assess price sensitivity, churn risk, and lifetime value of different customer segments.

Leverage customer feedback, purchase behavior, and competitor switching patterns to refine price positioning.

Support account-based pricing strategies where required for strategic clients or key accounts.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

 Continuously explore new pricing methodologies and innovative pricing tools (e.g., AI-driven optimization, machine learning-based forecasting)

Identify and implement process improvements in the pricing workflow to enhance agility and speed of decision-making.

Serve as a mentor and guide to junior pricing analysts, helping build the team’s analytical and strategic capability.

Establish and advocate for pricing best practices and governance across the organization.

Education: BA in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing analysis, financial analysis, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a senior or strategic role.
