General Overview of Position

As a Preschool Instructor at LionHeart Academy, you will nurture the development of our Early Years students through play-based, engaging, and age-appropriate learning activities. Your role involves fostering creativity, curiosity, and foundational skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum Planning:
   • Design and implement lesson plans and activities aligned with early childhood development principles and LionHeart Academy’s curriculum standards.
   • Incorporate storytelling, sensory activities, and interactive play to stimulate young minds.
2. Instructional Delivery:
   • Create a warm and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued.
   • Teach foundational concepts in literacy, numeracy, and social skills through creative and hands-on approaches.
3. Student Development:
   • Observe, monitor, and document children’s social, emotional, and academic progress.
   • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and developmental stages.
4. Parent Communication:
   • Provide regular updates to parents on their child’s growth and development through progress reports and parent-teacher conferences.
5. Resource Utilization:
   • Use engaging materials, resources, and tools to support active learning and development.
6. Health and Safety:
   • Ensure a safe and hygienic classroom environment, supervising children during both structured and unstructured activities.
7. Team Collaboration:
   • Work closely with other preschool staff to plan and execute cohesive activities that align with the school’s goals.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or equivalent credentials in Early Childhood Development.
• Experience in a preschool setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a passion for nurturing young learners.
• Knowledge of play-based learning strategies and child development milestones.

• Reporting To: Department of Learning & Development.
• Contract Type: Full-time.
• Location: LionHeart Academy, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
