Network Administrator / Network Engineer- FIFO 6/2 weeks

This position is to be based at the new mining site – 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off – So a fly in fly out basis

Accommodation and flights will be provided.

We are seeking a qualified Network Administrator to join a team. As a Network Administrator, you will play a key role in managing and securing the network infrastructure to meet the organization’s needs. You will bring expertise in data center technologies, network security, and troubleshooting, ensuring efficient and reliable network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and secure the company’s network infrastructure in line with organizational requirements.
• Administer and maintain Firewalls, IDS, IPS, VPN, Remote Access, Malware Solutions, Security Logging, Vulnerability Management, Security Incident Response, and Penetration Testing.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VOIP systems, and VSAT.
• Utilize L2 and L3 network management skills to ensure the network’s optimal performance.
• Familiarity with Cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure is a plus.
• Ensure timely resolution of helpdesk tickets in line with SLA requirements.
• Handle incident, change, and problem management via ticketing systems.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking equipment and cloud services.
• Resolve escalated Tier 2-3 issues promptly and professionally.
• Participate in proactive maintenance and critical infrastructure response protocols.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of network responsibilities.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives as directed by IT leadership.
• Assist with Tier-1 support during staffing gaps.
• Research and recommend best practices to enhance network security and efficiency.

Required Network Skills:

• Next-Gen Firewalls, switches, and access points.
• Expertise in Cisco Wireless Controllers 
• Routing Protocols 
• VPN technologies 
• Global MPLS deployments and Cisco Catalyst/Nexus switches.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Cloud Routers.
• Familiarity with Next-Gen Firewalls 
• VSAT fundamentals 
• Knowledge of QoS concepts 
• Experience with IP/Microwave Network deployment and optimization 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Software/Computer Technology preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in managing cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse server environment.
• In-depth knowledge of IP networking, VPN’s, DNS, WINS, load balancing, and firewall technologies.
• Major hardware/software vendors such as VMWare, HP, IBM, Cisco, Dell.
• Knowledge of system and network security best practices.
