Korea Business Center Addis Ababa, the commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, is a regional office of KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency; a governmental institution of the Republic of Korea). Our key mission is to promote trade and investment between Korea and Ethiopia including Djibouti and the Seychelles.

We would like to invite all qualified candidates for the following position:

Duties and Responsibilities

Major responsibilities of the Marketing Assistant include:

  • Providing high-quality customer service to Korean companies
  • Proactively developing and maintaining a solid business network mainly in Ethiopia

    (if needed and qualified also Djibouti and the Seychelles)

  • Preparing and disseminating Djiboutian market intelligence reports to Korean clients
  • Initiating, organizing and managing marketing promotional activities such as trade delegations, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars
  • Advocating Korean business interests mainly in Ethiopia (but also Djibouti and the Seychelles)
  • Assisting other KOTRA staffs duties, etc

Open Period: January 17(Fri), 2025 – January 23(Thurs), 2025

Salary: to be determined upon employment

Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, 5 days a week, 7:30am – 4:30 pm)

Contract Type: 1 year contract (contract can be extended after work performance evaluation, 2 months’ probation period included)

1st day of Work : 1. Quarter of 2025 (TBD)Β 

Duty Location(s): Office in Bisrate Gabriel Area, Old Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

RequirementsΒ 

  • Visa status : Ethiopian citizen or holder of working/residence permit in Ethiopia
  • Education : First degree from a recognized university required
  • Major in the following areas preferred: Social Sciences, Foreign Language, Economics, Business Administration, Administration, Statistics, etc
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required
  • *preferred: those who submit proof of English proficiency from a certified organization like IELTS, duolingo, TOEIC, etc Β 
  • Usage of Computer Programs (Excel, Doc, PPT, etc) required
  • Fluency in Korean and/or French preferred
  • Working experience in the following areas preferred : business development, business analysis & business consulting, market intelligence & research, import & export, or business support in the public sector, project management, and other international organizations or embassies
