1. Curriculum Implementation and Instruction:
- Understanding and implementing the Cambridge Early Years Curriculum:Â This involves a thorough understanding of the Cambridge Early Years program, its learning goals, and pedagogical approaches. They adapt and implement the curriculum to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of their KG students.
- Planning and Delivering Engaging Lessons:Â design and deliver age-appropriate, interactive, and engaging lessons that cover various learning areas like literacy, mathematics, science, art, music, and physical development.
- Utilizing a Play-Based Learning Approach:Â A cornerstone of early years education is play-based learning. The teacher facilitates learning through purposeful play, creating opportunities for exploration, discovery, and social interaction.
- Differentiating Instruction:Â Recognizing that children learn at different paces and have different learning styles, the teacher differentiates instruction to cater to individual needs. This might involve modifying activities, providing additional support, or offering extension activities.
- Assessing Student Progress:Â Continuously assess student progress through observation, informal assessments, and portfolio development. They use this information to inform their teaching and provide individualized support. This assessment should be aligned with the Cambridge Early Years framework.
2. Creating a Positive and Nurturing Learning Environment:
- Building a Safe and Supportive Classroom Community:Â Establishing a classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued is crucial. This includes fostering positive relationships, promoting empathy, and teaching social skills.
- Managing Classroom Behavior:Â Implementing positive behavior management strategies to create a structured and predictable learning environment. This might involve setting clear expectations, using positive reinforcement, and teaching conflict resolution skills.
- Promoting Independence and Self-Regulation:Â Encouraging children to develop independence, problem-solving skills, and self-regulation abilities.
3. Social-Emotional Development:
- Fostering Social Skills:Â Facilitating opportunities for children to interact with their peers, learn to share, cooperate, and resolve conflicts peacefully.
- Developing Emotional Literacy:Â Helping children identify, understand, and express their emotions in healthy ways.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

- Ensuring Safety and Hygiene:Â Maintaining a safe and hygienic classroom environment, following school policies and procedures.
- Managing Resources:Â Effectively managing classroom resources and materials.
- Masters in Early Childhood Education or a related field:Â
- A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferable,
- Teaching certification.
- Experience in teaching Age 3 to 5 students, Prior experience in teaching KG students is essential for a KG Â teacher.
