Interpreters

Job Summary: Facilitate communication between parties who speak two different languages over the internet-supported platform by conveying information effectively, professionally, and neutrally to ensure communication in alignment with job and company expectations. 

Weekly workload: at least 40 hours from late afternoon to or beyond midnight to align with the Pacific Standard Time day shift. Flexibility required to work 40 hours any time 24/7 including Holidays. 

Place of work: Addis Ababa

Gross Salary: Birr 35,000.00 monthly taxable gross salary for complete attendance with neither tardiness nor absence. 

Additional Benefits:

• International training before placement and attractive remuneration.

• Transport service to return from work when working in the evening time.

• ETB 3,500.00 house renting bonus for those willing to rent within a 5 km radius from our office.

• An additional 11% of their monthly salary is to be deposited in a blocked account for the time of termination. 

Required languages:

1. Between Amharic and English ( 7 positions)

2. Between Tigrigna and English ( 7 positions)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• University diploma or above,

• Proficient in one or more of the above-needed languages,

• Proficient, accent-neutral, near-native English,

• Work experience in a customer service environment is advantageous,

• Good attendance record,

• Ability to sit for long hours with little breaks in between,

• Prior interpretation experience is a plus but not a required,

• Knowledge and use of PC systems/CRM and Google Search is a must. 

Preferred Skills:

• Superior oral and written communication skills,

• Computer literacy with the ability to type a minimum of 20 WPM,

• Competency in a service organization environment,

• Ability to work independently,

• Self-motivated, willingness to constantly improve, 

• Attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritize work daily, 

• The ability to focus on a fast-paced environment while handling calls with a courteous, friendly and well-spoken tone,

• Strong people skills and ability to communicate both orally and written form. 

Special requirements:

• Because of working time in late hours those living in and arround Lebu, Jommo and Lafto area are most welcome. 

• Willingness to work during Ethiopian holidays as the candidates will only rest on holidays recognized in the USA.
