Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and professionalism.
• Provide training and mentorship to finance staff.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Prepare and manage the company’s annual budget, including forecasts and financial planning.
• Monitor cash flow, fund management, and financial health of the organization.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and records.
• Oversee general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Maintain proper financial documentation and records for internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, IFRS, and other relevant financial regulations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
• Assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
• Supervise tax filing, payroll management, and statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial transparency and efficiency.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and other financial institutions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure smooth audit processes.
• Represent the finance department in meetings and provide financial insights as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/Masters in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, IFRS, and financial regulations.
• Accounting/Finance certification and qualification is an advantage.
• Proficiency in financial softwares. 
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
