Korea Business Center Addis Ababa, the commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, is a regional office of KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency; a governmental institution of the Republic of Korea). Our key mission is to promote trade and investment between Korea and Ethiopia including Djibouti and the Seychelles.
We would like to invite qualified candidates for the following position:
Duties and Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the Assistant include:
Assisting KOTRA staff in the following tasks.
- Promoting KOTRAโs service to Ethiopian (Djiboutian and Seychelles) companies
- Advocating Korean business interests mainly in Ethiopia (but also Djibouti and the Seychelles)
- Contacting Ethiopian companies that are interested in doing business with Korea
- Organizing 1:1 meetings (online, offline)
- Other trade promotion tasksย
- Secretarial tasks
Salary: 250 USDย
- salary will be paid out in ETB with the prevailing exchange rate of the date of transfer applied
Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, 5 days a week, 7:30am โ 4:30 pm)
Contract Type: 6 months contract (contract can be extended after work performance evaluation, 2 monthsโ probation period included)
1st day of Work: 1. Quarter of 2025 (TBD)ย
Duty Location(s): Office in Bisrate Gabriel Area, Old Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Requirements
- Visa status : Ethiopian citizen or holder of working/residence permit in Ethiopia
- Education : First degree from a recognized university required
- preferred majors : Social Sciences, Foreign Language, Economics, Business Administration, Administration, Statistics, etc
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) required
- preferred : those who submit proof of English proficiency from a certified organization like IELTS, duolingo, TOEIC, etc ย
- Usage of Computer Programs (Excel, Doc, PPT, etc) required
- Fluency in French preferred
- Working experience in the following areas preferred : secretary, business analysis & business consulting, market intelligence & research, import & export, or business support in the public sector, project management, and other international organizations or embassies
