As we scale our impact, we are seeking a passionate Head of Curriculum & Pedagogy to lead the development of high-quality learning materials and ensure our teaching methods align with best practices in education.

Role Overview

The Head of Curriculum & Pedagogy will oversee the design, development, and delivery of structured, engaging, and effective digital learning content. This role requires expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategy, and pedagogy to ensure that students receive the best possible learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Alignment

1. Design and oversee a structured curriculum aligned with Ethiopia’s national standards for Grades 7-12.
2. Ensure all subjects (Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and more) are covered comprehensively with clear learning objectives.
3. Incorporate competency-based learning approaches to enhance student understanding and retention.

Instructional Design & Pedagogy

1. Implement modern teaching methodologies, ensuring lessons are engaging, interactive, and easy to follow.
2. Guide content creators and teachers in developing video lessons, assessments, and supplementary materials.
3. Introduce active learning strategies and blended learning techniques to enhance student engagement.

Teacher Training & Quality Assurance

1. Train and mentor teachers in digital instruction, student engagement, and pedagogy best practices.
2. Review and provide feedback on lesson plans, scripts, and educational videos to ensure high quality.
3. Develop standardized frameworks for lesson delivery across different subjects.

Assessment & Learning Outcomes

1. Establish student assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of learning materials.
2. Work with data analysts to track student performance and refine the curriculum based on insights.
3. Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance content effectiveness.

Collaboration & Leadership

1. Lead and collaborate with subject matter experts, content creators, and technology teams.
2. Ensure seamless integration of curriculum with the upcoming e-learning platform.
3. Stay updated on global education trends and innovations to apply best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Background:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of Ethiopian national curriculum standards.

Experience:

1. Minimum 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or education leadership.
2. Experience in digital education, e-learning platforms, or EdTech companies is a strong plus.
3. Familiarity with video-based learning and online education methodologies.
