About DANFE
Development through Adult and Non-Formal Education (DANFE) is a local organization dedicated to improving access to justice, education, and social services for vulnerable communities in Ethiopia. As part of our UNODC/EU-funded project, we are expanding our team to implement legal aid and community outreach initiatives. We are currently hiring for the following position:
Key Responsibility
- Knowledge of international and regional standards on women’s rights and gender equality and demonstrated experience identifying gender-based constraints to accessing and claiming legal rights,
- provide capacity development trainings to local partners and beneficiary communitiesÂ
- Strong facilitation and training skills on gender and inclusion and ability to present complex information on gender and inclusion to non-specialist audiences so that it is easily understood.
- Experience of undertaking supervised practice-based gender-sensitive research resulting in high-quality analysis and reporting.
- Experience of taking minutes in meetings, revising and contributing to the drafting of substantive policy reports.
- Knowledge and experience of project management, including design, budget development and management, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
- Ability to listen actively to, engage with, and persuade people from varying backgrounds and with a range of political, cultural, and value orientations.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage a varied workload.
Location: Amhara Region, Adiarkay and Tselemt Woredas, Ethiopia
Employment Type: One year Contact with possibility of extension as of the availability of fund.

Qualifications
- University degree in the field of law, human rights, gender studies, peace & security studies, or any other relevant fieldsÂ
- Profound knowledge of human rights as established in the Ethiopian legislation and related to the international human rights obligations.
- Profound knowledge on gender, international & Ethiopian women’s rights movements and initiatives, gender-based transformation and sexual and gender-based violence.
Work Experience
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the areas of gender and human rights with regards legal aid to women and vulnerable communities.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in working in or with CSOs regarding topics of gender, human rights, women and victim associations.
- Experience in elaborating and conducting trainings for partners in gender and legal aid support.
- Experience of documentation women case who got legal aids.
