Liaison officer duties and responsibilities

Relationship Management: 

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Proactively engage with Each Department Managers, MD & GMs, identifying their needs and priorities and tailoring communication and activities accordingly.       

  • Build and nurture trust and rapport with each department Managers, MD & GMs through regular communication, meetings, and events. 

Communication & Coordination: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Managers, MD & GMs communications, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent messaging. 

  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, briefings, and workshops with Managers, MD & GMs. 

  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other materials to effectively convey information to owners of the case.     

    Policy & Regulatory Engagement: 

  • Stay abreast of relevant government policies, regulations, and industry trends, and advise the organization on potential implications.   

  • Represent the organization in external meetings and forums, advocating for company interests and building consensus. 

  • Monitor MD, GMs & Managers feedback and proactively address any concerns or issues.     

Project Management & Collaboration: 

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that require MD, GMs & Managers engagement. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on MD, GMs & Managers communication and engagement strategies. 

  • Oversee and manage projects related to MD, GMs & Managers outreach, engagement, and relationship building. 

Data Analysis & Reporting: 

  • Analyze and track stakeholder engagement activities, identifying key trends and insights. 

  • Prepare and submit reports to management on stakeholder engagement activities, outcomes, and impact.

  • Be willing to take on additional responsibilities to support the team.

qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a liaison, government relations, or public affairs role, preferably with a focus on manufacturing and Import & Export companies. 
  • Proven ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and other external organizations. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and address stakeholder concerns. 
  • A proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented approach with a strong commitment to teamwork. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.
