About the Organization
The Well in Action (TWA) is an Ethiopian Resident Charity Organization. TWA’s intervention in Ethiopia aims to contribute to a sustainable improvement of the living conditions of smallholder farmers and deprived people. This can be achieved by implementing projects that focus on improving agricultural productivity and stimulating entrepreneurship in both rural and urban contexts.Â
Job Summary
The Woreda MaYEA Program Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful execution of the MaYEA program within the respective woreda. He/She will work closely with the TWA cluster office, MaYEA teams, and management. The Woreda MaYEA Program Officer will also be responsible for Planning, day-to-day coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Woreda program activities, conducting data collection regularly, data organization, and submitting reports in collaboration with the cluster coordination unit. The Woreda Program Officer is also responsible for any safeguarding issues within his respective woreda, particularly concerning the program participants.Â
Responsibilities and Tasks
Job Responsibility #1: Ensure the program activities within the Woreda

Keep and encourage program participants to act towards TWA safeguarding policy

Ensure the implementation of business development-related activities and results
-
Fully participate and take the lead roles in the recruitment of program participants And kebeles in the Wereda, and ensure the process is based on set targeting criteria

Conduct a series of discussions with stakeholders at the Wereda level and financial Institutions to secure credit services for enterprises.

Facilitate the establishment and strengthening of youth-led credit and savings association/cooperatives in the Wereda
-
Ensure the linkage between input suppliers and youth program participants to secure financial relationships and product marketing
-
Planning, day-to-day coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the program activities, conducting data collection regularly, data organization, preparing and submitting reports in collaboration with the cluster coordination unit

Provide and ensure technical support to program participants in apiculture, focusing on improved production, quality production, and consequent marketing for income generation

Organize consultative meetings to open a room for appropriate linkages

Ensure the participation of all value chain and ecosystem actors
Job Responsibility #2: TechnicalÂ

Identify appropriate project kebeles and sites according to the requirements of the apiculture and its aligned business development activities implementation

Properly target beneficiaries who can implement planned activities

Properly identify which aligned business development activities could align with apiculture and sustainable bee forage development practices

Properly identify the necessary inputs and value chain actors in the implementation of planned activities
-
Organize or deliver appropriate and practical training packages that could have an important impact on the implementation of planned activities

Provide regular technical support and improve the implementation over time
Job Responsibility #3: Safeguarding
-
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information obtained during implementation. They are prohibited from disclosing or using such information for personal gain unless authorized by the organization or the foundation or required by law.

Comply with all laws and regulations of TWA, Consortium lead, and Mastercard Foundation safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. They are required to promptly report any suspicions or incidents of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Adhere to the TWA, Consortium lead, and the Foundation code of conduct by upholding professional standards, treating others with respect, and complying with laws and policies. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including termination.

Collaborate to facilitate safeguarding measures (prevention, reporting, and response).

Share costs related to functional safeguarding in the implementing districts.

Be responsible for safeguarding case management in their intervention areas.
Job Specifications
1. Education:
-
A minimum of a BA degree in Animal Science or Apiculture and related
2. Experience:
-
At least 7 years of relevant professional experience,Â
-
Experience in managing the field of Apiculture and agricultural business development.
-
Experience working in NGOs is highly desirable.
3. Skills and Abilities:
-
Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience in implementing safeguarding measures.
-
Renewed a motorcycle license and proven skill and driving experienceÂ
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to think strategically and develop innovative approaches to implementation.
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of local languages (Tigrigna) is  mandatory
