What We Do

Ethiopian Capital Market Authority is established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of the major objectives of ECMA is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner. ECMA, as a regulatory authority, grants licenses to any person to operate as a security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, capital market service provider, over-the-counter trading facility, or any other activity deemed by ECMA as a regulated activity under its jurisdiction. ECMA regulates and oversees trading in primary and secondary markets of securities, the use of electronic trading platforms that deal with securities, and gives recognition and oversees the activities of self-regulatory organizations. 

Job Summary

The Job holder is responsible for ensuring that the Authority’s operations run smoothly by providing excellent customer service and administrative support.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors to the Authority’s offices, answering their questions, and directing them to the appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Answering phone calls to the Authority’s main line, screening calls, and directing them to the appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Managing appointments for senior staff members, ensuring that they are aware of upcoming appointments and that meeting rooms are prepared.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, ensuring that they are properly sorted and delivered to the appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Providing administrative support to senior staff members, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and conducting research.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Manage office supplies, including ordering and restocking items as needed.
  • Assist with planning and organizing events, such as conferences or workshops, by coordinating logistics and providing administrative support.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information to members of the public who visit or call the Authority.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information, such as personal or financial data.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications Requirements 

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Secretarial Science or a field related to the Job function from an Accredited or recognized learning institution.

  • 2 years of relevant working experience
