It is one of the Non-profitable faith-based, Ethiopian Catholic Church, Health Institution located in Sidama Region, Hawassa Town, Tulo Kebele and is operated as Health institution over 44 years rendering promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services for the low-income level households, vulnerable people and communities and dedicated to providing high-quality care and services to mothers, newborns, and children. The center holds a strong reputation for its excellence in maternal, child and adult healthcare services. The center is looking for the potential candidates who meet the minimum criteria.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

• The Technical Department Head is responsible for overseeing both reactive and preventive maintenance, as well as managing the activities of all technical units in collaboration with various departments, executive management, and international cooperation organizations. 

• S/he able to conducting regular facility inspections, planning necessary work, and providing strong leadership. The department head ensures that all departments’ support service needs are met, performing the role independently while adhering to established rules and regulations. 

• Additionally, the department head supervises the maintenance staff and leads emergency responses in case of system failures.

• S/he is responsible for coordinating all experts under his leadership so that all of the center’s important supply chains function 24/7 without disruption. 

• He is responsible for scheduling both reactive and preventive maintenance and scheduled implementation of new equipment or changes of existing technical infrastructure. 

• Special care is required for all life-sustaining systems in the following areas: OR, ICU and NICU

• S/he is able to work and supervise electrical, medical gas, water supply lines, and IT server-based activities.

• S/he should have to an exposure on Fire alarming and extinguishing system and exposure to medical equipment like X-ray machines, NICU equipment, lab equipment, diagnostic equipment. And Oversee the maintenance of center vehicles, generators, and oxygen supply systems.

• BSc and or Above degree in Facility management, or COTM Engineering

• Three and more years of experience in a managerial position mandatory

Required Skills

• Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technical staff, while ensuring high levels of performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records, create annual planning, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and reporting requirements.

• Project Management: Experience in planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance and repair projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.

• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, contractors, and external vendors.

• Health Facilities experience, Exposure to INGO and Medical Recording Management will be considered as advantageous.
