Job Title: System Administrator and Technical Support

Job Type: Full Time 

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Summary:

A System Administrator and Technical support’s responsibilities include but not limited to maintaining, securing, and upgrading computer systems, networks, and infrastructure, while also managing user accounts and troubleshooting technical issues. The System Administrator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of an organization’s computer systems, networks, and related infrastructure. The candidate ensures the stability, security, and performance of these systems, while also providing technical support and troubleshooting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

1.System Maintenance & Management: 

 ◦ Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.

 ◦ Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.

 ◦ Implement and maintain security measures to protect against threats.

 ◦ Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups and updates.

 ◦ Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

2. Troubleshooting & Support: 

 ◦ Diagnose and resolve technical issues with computer systems and networks.

 ◦ Provide technical support to end-users.

 ◦ Document technical procedures and solutions.

3.Network Administration: 

 ◦ Configure and maintain network hardware and software.

 ◦ Monitor network traffic and performance.

 ◦ Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

4. Security Process: 

 ◦ Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures.

 ◦ Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents

5. Technological trends:

 ◦ Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends.

 ◦ Participate in project planning and implementation.

 ◦ Document system configurations and procedures. 

Qualifications & Required Skills:

 • Technical Skills: 

 ◦ Strong understanding of operating systems (E.g., -Windows, OS). 

 ◦ Experience with networking protocols and technologies. 

 ◦ Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques. 

 ◦ Familiarity with security concepts and best practices. 

 ◦ Experience with cloud computing platforms.

â—¦Support VMware, Kubernetes environment, Ubuntu environment

 • Soft Skills: 

 ◦ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 

 ◦ Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

 ◦ Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

 ◦ Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

◦ Team management skills and collaboration. 

Education & Experience:

 • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 • Possess one or more qualification of CompTIA A+, N+, MCSE/MCITP Server 2016 or newer with LPIC-1, CCST/MTCNA and MTCRE would be an advantage. 

• A minimum of 05 years’ experience in system administration or a related role, in which the incumbent must serve as system support or related for a minimum of two /02/years in similar or relevant industries.
