Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering and Design
- Design, optimize, and simulate solar power plants, including grid-connected and standalone systems, mini-grids, and energy storage solutions.
- Perform electrical calculations, component sizing, and system dimensioning to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Prepare detailed schematics, bill of quantities, and technical drawings using tools such as AutoCAD or similar software.
- Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
2. Project Management
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, goals, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Â Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Â Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes.
3. Owner’s Engineering
- Provide advisory services to institutional and private clients on project development, operation, and tender preparation.
- Review and evaluate technical and financial proposals from contractors, providing support during negotiations and grant disbursements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project implementation.
4. Project Proposal Preparation
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to prepare high-quality proposals, including technical methodologies, bill of materials, budgets, and technical drawings.
- Ensure proposals align with client requirements and industry best practices.
5. Team Leadership and Training
- Â Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Supervise and support junior engineers, providing guidance and facilitating their professional growth.
- Develop and deliver training programs for new staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
6. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, quality assessments, and performance evaluations.
7. Additional Responsibilities
Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor to support the company’s goals and objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on solar energy projects.
- Proven track record of managing solar projects from design to completion, including grid-connected and standalone systems.
- Experience in preparing and submitting technical and financial proposals for solar energy tenders.
- Proficiency in electrical design and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, PV syst, or similar).
- Strong understanding of solar energy technologies, energy storage systems, and electrical distribution networks.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to solar energy projects.
