Senior Accountant

Abyssinya Slaughtering Service House Plc. is a leading Ethiopian meat export company, specializing in the processing and export of fresh goat, mutton, and beef meat. We also engage in the import business using export-generated foreign exchange. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to lead our finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee    full    accounting    operations    (journals,    ledgers,    closings,    and    reports)
   
• Manage    export/import    transaction    records    and    foreign    exchange    reconciliation
   
• Prepare    accurate    cost    accounting    for    meat    production    and    shipments
   
• Ensure  tax  and  IFRS  compliance;  handle  VAT,  withholding,  and  income  tax
   
• Supervise    junior    accounting    staff    and    coordinate    with    external    auditors
   
• Liaise with banks, customs, and internal departments for smooth financial workflows

Salary: Negotiable (based on experience)

Location: Bole Medhanialem area Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Qualifications

• BA Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years’ experience, including 3 years in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, IFRS, and cost accounting
• Proficient in Peachtree/Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills

Preferred Experience: in export / importbusinesses, customs handling, or foreign exchange

Bonus: ACCA/CPA or IFRS certification is a plus
