Job Description

The Ethiopian pediatrics society  is collaborating with the American Academy of pediatrics  (AAP) in the Implementation research  on a Suicide Prevention package co-created with lived-experience community members in Ethiopia    The research will be conducted in Addis Ababa, Jima , Gondar and Haromya universities 

Childhood depression is a common problem that we care very much about among our patients at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital. Children with depression or other health issues may think of harming themselves. And we want to make sure all our patients are safe. A lot of the time, no one asks kids if they are having thoughts about harming themselves, so they don’t get the help that they need. Because of this concern, we at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital want to screen young people for self-harm.” And you are employed to do the data collection on this issue.

Job Summary: 

• Visit TASH , emergency room , follow-up clinics and OPD to visit patents for possible enrollment 
• Play active role in study patient recruitment as per ASQ tools.
• Fill the Consent and ascent forms as per the ASQ protocol 
• Report problem encountered during sample collection to the Principal investigator delegated personnel.
• Fill all forms after getting consent and ascent (age older than 12 years) for all patients 
• Take all patents to the Psychiatrists for the clinical evaluation Immediately after completing that data collection. 
• Ensure patient medical records are kept confidential
• Submit your data collected to EPS office weekly on Fridays.
