About BL:
BerhanLehetsanat (BL) is a nonprofit local civil society organization established in 1997. BerhanLehetsanat has transformed itself into a board led local civil society organization and certified by the Agency for Civil Society Organizations effective July 18, 2019 (Hamle 11, 2011 E.C) as per the civil society organization proclamation no.1113/2019. The organizational objective of BerhanLehetsanat is βto enhance the capacity of Children with Disabilities, other vulnerable children & their parents/guardians to support themselves through quality & holistic community based interventions.β
It has its head quarter in Addis Ababa and implements projects in Addis Ababa City Administration, Amhara, Oromia, Sidama, Afar and Southern regions. Berhan Lehetsanat works to address the multi-dimensional perils faced by marginalized and vulnerable children in general and children with disabilities in particular and their families. Its program implementation gives special focus on girls through a holistic approach.
Currently, BL has ready to launch a project that focus on addressing the education and protection need of children with disabilities in 3 conflict affected areas of Oromiya namely, Guji, North Shoa and west Guji zones. Therefore, BL is looking 3 competent project officers (1 for each zone) that are responsible for the days to day activities and management of the project.

Employment Term: Full-time, one-year contract with possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding
Reports To: Program Department Head

JOB SUMMARY
The project officer will be responsible in planning; coordinating and implementing the project assigned and provide technical guidance and support for Community Based Rehabilitation workers and volunteers.Theproject officerwill work under the direction of the program manager to ensure that the project implementation will continue without compromising quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
β’ Prepares and manages the implementation plan of project activities from existing operational plan.
β’ Ensures that activities are compliant with design of the project and standards.
β’ Organizes and facilitates events such as trainings, community sensitization work- shops to promote topics/issues related to their needs.
β’ submits monthly activity reports to the program director
β’ Completes monthly budget projections and tracks expenditures.
β’ Participates in the planning of budget and tracks activity expenses occurred against cash pro- jections.
β’ Coordinates with other NGOs/CBOs to ensure participation in partner events.
β’ Monitors security situation in project location and reports to the PD.
β’ Follows up on logistics issues at project location and ensure assets are maintained..
β’ Ensures target schools get coaching and mentoring support on inclusive education and related services
β’ Maintains records of the project database with a regular updat

BA/Masterβs degree (with 4 and 2 years of experience respectively) in Economics, social work, special needs education or other development related subject.

Three (3) years’ experience in coordinating projects especially inclusive education and protection

Fluency in Oromifa , Amharic and English a (written and spoken)

β’ High-level expertise in Results-Based management, Logical Framework Analysis, and Result-Based Performance Monitoring and Evaluation.
β’ Good knowledge in project cycle management and experience in proposal development and grant management
β’ Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet
β’ Demonstrated communication and analytical skills.
β’ Flexibility to work both in a team and independently
β’ Cultural sensitivity, patience and flexibility
β’ Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work well with people, good judgment and commitment to the community
β’ Capacity to work in a challenging situation (Work under pressure)
β’ Able to meet deadlines and prioritize task
