Olij Breeding Ethiopia is an internationally leading breeding company, propagate Roses Firm with a significant presence in Ethiopia since 2012 G.C. The company is based in Bushoftu , employs over 140 staff and has plans to grow further. For our Human Resource department based in Ethiopia, we are looking for talented Junior HR Officer. 

Purpose of the Position

The key purpose of this role is to support business units to drive operational effectiveness through the implementation of Human Resource best practice. The incumbent must have an in depth understanding of the business unit in order to deliver initiatives, which enable the business unit to deliver on its objectives

Key Accountabilities

Support and enable business units in meeting their objectives through the application of HR principles and practices

  • Under the direct supervision of the HR Manager, Salary and benefit Administration Head, he/she Control overall the company’s Human Resource & General Service Activities. The Junior HR Officer is responsible for the overall HR management of a team. The role includes following specifics:

  • Responsible for effective management of payroll process

  • Effective management of compliance requirements with all government entities: Audit reports, and compliance

  • Effective management of compensation benefits e.g. Bonus, health insurance, social security etc

  • Provides a transactional HR service to managers, supervisors and general staff on the leave, salary slips, health insurance and other employee related queries.

  • Provides administrative support required to HR.

  • Supports management staff in administration and managing the onboarding of new joiners

  • Provides administration and coordination elements of training

  • Provides system’s support for all Olij Breeding staff

  • Effective management of Employee relation process, policies and practice within the company. 

  • Identifies, coordinates and facilitates relevant HR workshops/interventions/initiatives as guided by GM.

  • Ensures high quality of services delivered (i.e. timeliness, accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness) 

  • Advises and supports employees in understanding HR policy(CBA) and services, and accessing service providers

  • Takes overall accountability for quality in the HR value chain / processes

  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships with HR Leadership, Business Leadership and Employee.

  • Enable effective cross-functional working relationships to create and drive an integrated HR employee experience

Salary: According to the scale of the organization

The incumbent is required to have the following qualifications and experience level:

  • A relevant Degree from a recognized university in the field of Human Resources, Business management or equivalent coupled with relevant experience.

  • Minimum 2 year of HR generalist experience

  • Knowledge and application, Employment Law(proclamation)

  • Effective Communication (Written and Verbal)

  • Implementation of relevant Centers of Excellence’ solutions to address key business challenges

  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of Human Resources concepts and principles

  • Knowledge and experience of the business and its intricacies

  • Dedicated and willing to work under stress full condition.

  • Excellent role player in motivating teamwork and organizing skill.

  • Computer and Ms Office application skill (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook). 

  • Preferred work experience in Horticulture/Floriculture sector.
