Finance Manager

To manage the overall financial activities of the company including financial planning and reporting.

Performs a variety of duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures. Checks and verifies data for completeness and accuracy. Responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budget and year-end financial report and audit. 

• Reviews accuracy of supplier invoices presented for payment.
• Ensures that necessary supporting documents are verified and attached to payment vouchers before authorized signatories are obtained.

• Prepares monthly management reports i.e Balance sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Changes in Financial Position and reports to management with in two weeks after end of month.

• Ensures that physical count of cash on hand, inventory and fixed assets of the company are carried out at the end of the fiscal year.

• Maintain fixed asset register of the company

• Closes the company’s accounts at the end of the fiscal year and makes the accounts ready for external audit.

• Interacts with the external and tax auditors, provides information and access to accounting records as and when required. 

• Prepare and file annual Profit Tax declaration form with in four months after the end of the fiscal year.

• Ensures that monthly tax declarations of Value added tax, withholding tax, pension and employees’ salary tax are correct and filed to the appropriate government institution on time.

• Calculate and record accruals and allocate monthly prepaid expenses.

• Prepares documentation for import and check the completeness and check the cost of imported goods.

Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; certification preferred, with at least 3 years in a Finance Manager role. 

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in English is required
