Job Description

To conduct in dependent assessments of organizations’ financial statements and disclosures. They confirm that financial statements do not contain errors or fraudulent activity. Companies hire external auditors to ensure financial statements and disclosures remain free of material misstatement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan effective auditing processes
  • Audit financial statements and assess accounts for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Inspect internal systems and controls
  • Assess risk management tactics
  • Perform audits of non-financial areas, like Health & Safety and IT
  • Report systematic errors or fraud indicators
  • Investigate specific issues regulatory bodies bring forward
  • Explain audit findings and recommend solutions

About Us:

Eligibility Criteria: Interested firms must submit both financial and technical proposals, fulfilling the following requirements:

  • A valid and renewed trade license 

  • Registration certificates for TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) and VAT (Value Added Tax).

  • Registration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

  • A detailed audit plan, including scope, methodology, timeline, and the final audit report submission date.

  • Experience in auditing in any sectors, is preferred, especially for firms with relevant experience means manufacturing sectors.

  • Proposals must be submitted between 13/5/2025 to 24/05/2025, by 5:00 PM. late submissions will not be considered.

  • CDO reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, at its discretion during the evaluation process.

Scope of Work: The external audit will cover the following key areas:

  • Examination of CDO’s books of accounts for the fiscal year 2024.

  • Verification of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, organizational policies, and Ethiopian financial regulations.

  • Assessment of internal control systems and governance practices related to financial reporting.

  • Submission of an independent audit report, providing an objective opinion on the accuracy, fairness, and completeness of CDO’s financial records.

  • Proven experience as an External Auditor

  • Experience in data analysis and financial reporting

  • Knowledge of external auditing practices and relevant regulations (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley Act)

  • Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. GAAP, IFRS)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability

  • Strong organizational skills
