Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced ERP Team Leader to lead our functional and technical ERP teams, focused on optimizing and enhancing our Business Central 365 ERP system. This is a key role within the organization, responsible for leading new development initiatives and ensuring the successful adoption of the technology. The role requires a balance of strong technical and functional expertise in ERP, along with leadership skills to guide and inspire the team. The ERP Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the development, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of our ERP system.

Key Performance Indicators:

β€’ On-schedule delivery of new development features on time, including comprehensive testing of new features/development

β€’ Timely resolution of raised support tickets

β€’ Development of a strong technical and functional team

β€’ Establishment of robust business processes to support development

Key Responsibilities:

ERP

β€’ Oversee the customization and configuration of the Business Central 365 ERP system to meet business requirements, including setting up new countries as Hatch Africa rolls out Business Central to additional countries of operation

β€’ Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of ERP development projects, including collaboration and management with external stakeholder (e.g., Microsoft Partners, consultants, etc)

β€’ Collaborate with project stakeholders (e.g., internal leadership, users, external parties for integration, etc) to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements.

β€’ Efficiently allocate resources within the ERP technical/functional team based on project priorities and individual strengths.

β€’ Own development environment, including managing user access

β€’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse functional requirements for ERP system enhancements.

β€’ Review and approve modifications, extensions, and enhancements developed by the team.

β€’ Validate that system modifications meet quality standards before implementation.

β€’ Provide technical guidance to the team on ERP development best practices, coding standards, and system architecture.

β€’ Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration between the ERP system and other IT systems.

β€’ Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to IT and ERP initiatives.

β€’ Ensure the maintenance of comprehensive documentation for configurations, customizations, and development processes.

β€’ Ensure that the team’s work aligns with business objectives and industry best practices.

β€’ Proactively identify risks, security failures, or other issues that need addressing and raise to management.

β€’ For external audits (e.g., annual financial audits) lead the provision of any necessary ERP documentation (e.g., user rights tables, audit logs, etc).

Training and Deployment

β€’ Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to facilitate full-scale adoption of ERP technology within the business and for all end-users; proactively identify areas of low adoption and communicate plans to address this.

β€’ Ensure the development of comprehensive test plans and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end-users.

β€’ Act as an escalation point for complex technical and functional issues, providing support to end-users when necessary.

β€’ Facilitate training sessions for team members and end-users as needed.

β€’ Collaborate with teams in other countries to guide and assist their implementation of the ERP.

Team Leadership

β€’ Lead, mentor, and inspire ERP technical/functional team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment

β€’ Monitor workload and adjust ensure optimal team performance.

β€’ Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

β€’ Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for professional growth.

β€’ Identify technical/functional skill gaps and work with Management to define training plans to fill gaps.

β€’ Support career development initiatives within the team.

β€’ Work closely with the support team to address and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.

β€’ Proven leadership experience in managing ERP technical/functional teams.

β€’ Extensive experience with ERP setup & configuration, customization, and support, particularly with Business Central 365.

β€’ Strong understanding of poultry industry processes and workflows.

β€’ Excellent project management and organizational skills.

β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

β€’ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

β€’ Ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
