Job Overview 

The Junior Electrician will support all electrical operations for their furniture and home décor company, specializing in the installation and maintenance of showroom lighting systems, smart furniture wiring, and in-store electrical displays while ensuring compliance with safety standards, enhancing product presentation, and maintaining reliable electrical infrastructure across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Showroom & Display Electrical Work

• Install/maintain decorative lighting (pendant lights, LED strips, spotlights) for product displays.
• Wire and test electrical components of smart furniture.
• Assist in setting up seasonal lighting displays and window arrangements.

2. Facilities Maintenance

• Troubleshoot basic electrical issues (outlets, switches, circuit breakers)
• Conduct safety inspections for wiring in storage areas and workspaces
• Maintain workshop equipment (power tools, dust collection systems)

3. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to electrical safety standards for flammable materials (fabrics, wood dust)
• Label electrical panels and maintain clear access to emergency shutoffs

4. Support Functions

• Assist senior electricians with inventory management of bulbs/wiring supplies.
• Document maintenance logs and report hazards promptly

Requirements:

• Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Experience: 0-1 year (internships/apprenticeships accepted).

• Basic knowledge of residential wiring and low-voltage systems

• Familiarity with decorative lighting fixtures is a plus

• Strong attention to detail for aesthetic-focused work

• Skills:

  –  Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools (multimeters, wire strippers).

  –  Ability to read simple electrical diagrams.

• Languages: Proficiency in English and Amharic.
