Job Overview
The Commis Chef will assist the kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes for all outlets and banquets, contributing to the overall success of our dining experiences in line with the hotel’s standards and financial goals. This role involves supporting senior chefs, maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety, collaborating with team members for efficient service, and participating in the setup for events. The ideal candidate will have prior kitchen experience, possess basic culinary skills, and demonstrate a passion for cooking while being eager to learn. This position offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring chefs to enhance their skills and create memorable experiences for our guests.
Responsible to: Chef De Cuisine/ Sous Chef / Chef De Partie
Main Duties and responsibilities:
Operational:

Ensures that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented.

Sets up the assigned section of the Kitchen as efficiently as possible to increase speed and productivity.

Ensures that all dishes from that section are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.

Ensure to adhere to the specified Hygiene standards at all times.

Customer Service:

Reads the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.

Responds to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.

Qualifications
-
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in food preparation, preferably in international cuisine.
-
Language: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
-
Attributes: Presentable, confident, customer-focused, easy to adapt and a natural team player.
-
Passport: Valid passport with at least 2 years remaining.
