Position Summary

As a Coffee Cupping & Export Products Quality Assurance Officer I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our coffee products, from green bean to export. You will be responsible for analyzing coffee quality, evaluating production inputs and outputs, and ensuring adherence to our stringent quality control procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our coffee export operations and be a part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate green coffee, work-in-process, and finished coffee products to assess physical and chemical characteristics, ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications.

• Collect, analyze, and summarize quality control data to monitor product quality and evaluate the effectiveness of our quality management system.

• Ensure all coffee product batches meet pre-established quality standards.

• Maintain and calibrate coffee laboratory equipment and devices.

• Manage coffee sample labeling, registration, and storage for traceability and future reference.

• Conduct regular quality checks on stored coffee to ensure optimal condition and adherence to standards.

• Perform sensory evaluation (cupping) of coffee samples and participate in research and development activities to improve existing products and develop new offerings.

• Analyze data, prepare comprehensive reports on coffee quality, and provide constructive feedback on deviations from specifications, expectations, and standards.

• Prepare and interpret analytical laboratory reports.

• Ensure proper sampling procedures are followed for each production batch for quality testing.

• Apply appropriate quality control principles, methods, and techniques.

• Maintain accurate records of chemical tests and analyses, adhering to quality control procedures.

• Provide feedback on quality deviations and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.

• Monitor the expiry dates of laboratory chemicals.

• Collaborate with relevant staff to develop and update quality control and assurance manuals, standards, and procedures.

• Conduct complex analyses of coffee materials and products requiring advanced professional expertise.

• Prepare product certificates.

• Provide ongoing training to staff on quality management best practices.

• Analyze data and create charts or input data into computer systems for analysis.

• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Plant Science, or a related field from a recognized university/college.

• Certification in Coffee Cupping is required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in coffee quality control and assurance.

• Strong sensory evaluation skills (cupping).

• Knowledge of quality control principles, methods, and techniques.

• Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures.

• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
