Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Division Manager, the Quality Control Head is responsible for the preparation of strategic planning and implementation of activities that lead to developing higher quality assurance. The head is responsible for contributing to the growth, development, and achievement of the company’s vision through implementing the mission and core values. The department head is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the department through empowering and monitoring the staff under his/her department as per delegated power to meet the company’s development and business objectives effectively and efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products and production equipmentÂ
- Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing dataÂ
- Working according to deadlines for the delivery of productsÂ
- Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goodsÂ
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correctÂ
- Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standardsÂ
- Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problemsÂ
- Serve as the lead for Company Quality initiatives, including, the implementation of the Company Quality Management SystemÂ
- Prepare for all Company Quality Audits, ISO audits and respond to issuesÂ
- Ensure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activitiesÂ
- Track, analyse, and lead initiatives for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plantÂ
- Serve as primary plant liaison with the Customer Service Centre, Consumer Affairs and with consumers for quality and complaint issuesÂ
- Prepare and maintain permitting and licensing for the plantÂ
- Manage budgeting, purchasing and inventory of plant operating supplies such as filters, chemicals and lab suppliesÂ
- Coordinate activities and develop good relationship with key vendorsÂ
- Monitor the performance and competencies of plant QA staff and provide leadership, coaching and development as neededÂ
- Lead the execution of cultural changes and activities needed to support company Continuous Excellence (CCE) and the pursuit of TPMÂ
- Develop initiatives to improve plant performance against national quality measures and ensure plant compliance with company and regulatory standardsÂ
- Performs other related functions as assigned by the Division Manager.
Education:Â
- BSC/MSc degree in chemistry/Agriculture or other related disciplineÂ
- Capping certification is essentialÂ
Experience:Â
- 6-8 years relevant experience in the coffee business, out of which at least 2-3 years should be in a senior managerial positionÂ
Skills & Knowledge:Â
- Knowhow about veterinary product regulations and standardsÂ
- Analytical skills sufficient to understand develop and direct the functions of finance, marketing, and strategic planning.Â
- Familiar with national & international import and customs policies.Â
- Communication and good interpersonal skills and a high degree of integrityÂ
- Strong leadership profileÂ
- Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing prioritiesÂ
- Strong negotiation skillsÂ
