Position Overview

The City Expansion Coordinator for Hub-Bits, Djibouti, is a critical role focused on supporting the establishment, growth, and operational efficiency of Hub-Bits in Djibouti. The coordinator will assist with business expansion, community engagement, operational coordination, and stakeholder Coordination/Management

This role ensures the successful market entry, daily operations, and sustainable growth of the Hub-Bits facility in Djibouti. The City Expansion Coordinator will also play a key role in building strong community ties, driving impactful programs, and supporting the commercialization of Hub-Bits products and services.Β

ABOUT THE ROLEΒ 

As theΒ Expansion Coordinator , your mission is to grow The HUB-BITS community while driving its commercial success and impact. You will build and oversee a high-performing team, run day-to-day operations, and oversee revenue generation. As Expansion Coordinator, you will be responsible for:Β 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Β  Β  Strategic Leadership and Expansion

  • Expansion Strategy: Lead the design and execution of the Hub-Bits expansion strategy in Djibouti, including operational setup, resource allocation, and facility Coordination/Management.

  • Market Entry: Oversee the establishment of Hub-Bits’s physical presence in Djibouti, including site selection, leasing, and facility setup.

  • Growth Planning: Develop an operational roadmap for the first 12-24 months of the new facility, focusing on growth targets, revenue generation, and team expansion.

Β  Β  Business Development and Revenue Generation

  • Revenue Growth: Take full ownership of Hub-Bits Djibouti’s P&L (Profit & Loss) Coordination/Management, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability through diverse revenue streams.

  • Business Development: Lead the development and execution of business development plans, identifying and securing revenue opportunities from space rentals, events, and training programs.

  • Partnership Building: Forge strategic partnerships with government entities, private sector stakeholders, and local organizations to support Hub-Bits programs and operations.

  • Sales and Marketing: Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to increase brand visibility, community engagement, and sales conversion rates.

Β  Β  Β  Β Operational Coordination/Management

  • Facility Operations: Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Hub-Bits facility in Djibouti, overseeing all operational functions including maintenance, utilities, and space utilization.

  • Team Coordination/Management: Build and lead a high-performance team in Djibouti, recruiting and managing staff for operations, community engagement, marketing, and program support.

  • Operationalization of Products: Support the development of end-to-end operational processes for Hub-Bits programs, ensuring effective service delivery, participant onboarding, and customer lifecycle Coordination/Management.

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of program delivery, ensuring that customer satisfaction, program quality, and product quality remain top priorities.

  • Compliance and Risk Coordination/Management: Ensure full compliance with local regulations, safety protocols, and risk Coordination/Management frameworks to protect the organization and its beneficiaries.

Β  Β  Β  Financial Coordination/Management

  • P&L Ownership: Take full responsibility for financial performance, ensuring revenue growth, cost control, and financial sustainability of Hub-Bits Djibouti operations.

  • Budget Development: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for the facility, working closely with the Group PMO and Finance teams to allocate resources efficiently.

  • Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring the organization achieves cost efficiency without compromising service quality.

  • Revenue Forecasting: Use financial modeling and predictive analytics to forecast future revenue and manage cash flow effectively.

  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports, impact assessments, and performance updatesΒ 

Team Leadership and Capacity Building

  • Team Building: Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of high-performing, mission-driven employees for the Hub-Bits Djibouti facility.

  • Team Leadership: Provide direct leadership and support to staff, ensuring accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.

  • Talent Development: Support employee capacity building through training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

  • Performance Coordination/Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, set team goals, and address performance gaps as they arise.

Β REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3+ years in operations coordination, or administrative support roles

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Strong relationship-building skills & stakeholder Coordination/Management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience building & managing lean, high-performance teams

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required. French, Somali, or Arabic is a strong plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead expansion initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and drive commercial success.

  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in managing P&L ownership, financial forecasting, and operational efficiency.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to operate in a startup environment, embrace ambiguity, and build new systems from the ground up.

  • Sales and Marketing: Strong commercial skills in sales, marketing, and partnership development.

  • Problem Solving: Creative, data-driven, and analytical approach to solving operational and strategic challenges.

  • Flexibility and Agility: Willingness to work outside regular hours and travel as required.

  • Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of French, Somali, and Arabic is a strong plus.
