Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead and transform the company’s human capital strategy across its diverse operations. As a core member of the executive leadership team, the CHRO will shape organizational culture, drive talent development, and ensure HR excellence that aligns with the company’s ambitious growth and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic foresight, operational leadership, and people-centered innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:

  • Formulate and execute a forward-looking HR strategy that supports the organization’s mission and long-term business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on all human capital matters.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning processes.
  • Ensure optimal workforce structures across all business units and geographies.

Performance & Development Systems

  • Design and implement performance management frameworks that foster accountability and growth.
  • Champion continuous learning through leadership development programs, training roadmaps, and competency building.

HR Compliance & Policy Governance:

  • Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Update and enforce internal HR policies, codes of conduct, and grievance resolution mechanisms.

Culture & Change Management

  • Lead efforts to build an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in the company’s core values.
  • Drive organizational transformation and change management initiatives during growth, restructuring, or integration phases.

Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Oversee the design of equitable and competitive compensation structures.
  • Manage benefits programs and retention initiatives to attract and retain top talent.

HR Systems & Analytics:

  • Leverage HRIS tools and workforce analytics for data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Report regularly on key HR metrics, engagement surveys, and talent pipeline health.

Candidate Profile:
Education:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate certification in HR (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in progressive senior HR leadership roles, including experience managing multi-site or multi-division organizations.
  • Strong exposure to manufacturing, FMCG, or service-based industries is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Expertise in strategic HR planning, organizational design, and HR compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire large teams across diverse functional areas.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and executive presence.
  • Proficiency with HR technology platforms and data visualization tools.
