  1. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A CCTV operator’s primary duties involve operating and maintaining surveillance equipment, monitoring live and recorded footage, and reporting any suspicious activity or security breaches. They also maintain equipment, store footage, and communicate with relevant authorities when necessary. 

  1. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring:

Actively observing live and recorded footage, identifying potential security risks, and reporting any is concerning activity to the appropriate authorities or personnel. 

  • Equipment Operation:

Operating and maintaining CCTV equipment, including cameras, servers, and other related devices. 

  • Incident Reporting:

Communicating observations and reporting incidents to security staff, police, or other relevant parties. 

  • Data Management:

Ensuring proper storage and retrieval of recorded footage, and maintaining accurate records of surveillance activities. 

  • Equipment Maintenance:

Regularly inspecting and maintaining CCTV equipment to ensure proper functioning. 

  • Communication:

Communicating effectively with security staff, police, and other stakeholders. 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Tracking and Surveillance:

Following individuals or vehicles through the system, identifying and reporting suspects. 

  • Assisting with Investigations:

Providing access to CCTV footage for law enforcement or other investigations. 

  • Controlling Access:

Managing access to the control room and ensuring confidentiality of the CCTV operation. 

  • Following SOPs:

Adhering to standard operating procedures for the CCTV system and the control room. 

  • Reporting Issues:

Reporting any equipment malfunctions or other issues to the supervisor or maintenance personnel. 

  • Providing Evidential Records:

Producing clear and accurate records of events and witness statements, acceptable under legal guidelines. 

  • Performs other duties he is assigned as deemed necessary.

  1. Working condition

  • You would work indoors in a central control room in front of a number of screens.

  • You would be expected to work shifts to cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

  • You may work in a team of operators or on your own.

  • You would keep in frequent contact with colleagues through telephone and radio contact

Education- BA degree in system administration, computer science, Information Technology 

Experience – at least 1 year experience
