Job Description for CAAA Tigray CSO’s Capacity Building Officer
About the Role
CAAA Tigray is seeking a passionate and experienced Capacity Building Officer to play a key role in strengthening the capabilities of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Tigray. You will design and deliver training programs, provide technical assistance, and facilitate collaboration among CSOs to enhance their effectiveness in serving the communities they support.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct training needs assessments to identify capacity gaps among CSOs in Tigray.

Develop and deliver high-quality training programs on various topics relevant to CSO strengthening, such as governance, fundraising, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy.

Provide technical assistance and mentorship to CSOs on specific capacity-building challenges.

Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among CSOs through workshops, networking events, and online platforms.

Develop and maintain resource materials on capacity building for CSOs.

Monitor and evaluate the impact of capacity-building initiatives.

Liaise with government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to promote CSO development in Tigray.

Stay up-to-date on best practices in CSO capacity building and integrate them into CAAA Tigray’s programs.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred). A postgraduate degree is a plus.

At least 5 years of experience working in capacity building for CSOs.

Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs for adult learners.

Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by CSOs in Tigray.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Fluency in Tigrinya and English (written and verbal).

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with online collaboration tools.
