New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization (NMWEO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2007 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The organization was previously registered at the Ministry of Justice under registration number 3018 and later registered and licensed by the Federal Charities and Societies Agency as an Ethiopian resident’s charity by the Charities and Societal Proclamation No. 621/2009 by registration No. 0539. NMWEO has been re-registered according to the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 113/2019 with registration No. 0539.

Position Overview

New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization (NMWEO) is seeking a highly motivated Business Development and Partnership Officer to support the organization’s fundraising, partnership-building, and resource mobilization efforts. The officer will play a key role in identifying business opportunities, establishing partnerships, and developing funding proposals to advance NMWEO’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of business development and fundraising strategies.

  • Identify potential funding opportunities from donors, private sector partners, and grant-making institutions.

  • Assist in proposal writing, concept note development, and donor reporting.

  • Conduct market research to assess funding trends, partnership opportunities, and competitor activities.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and private sector actors.

  • Coordinate partnership agreements, ensuring they align with NMWEO’s goals and priorities.

  • Support negotiations for funding agreements, contracts, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

  • Track and report on business development activities and key performance indicators.

  • Represent NMWEO in external meetings, networking events, and donor engagement sessions.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, partnership management, or related roles.

  • Strong knowledge of donor funding mechanisms and partnership-building strategies.

  • Experience in proposal writing and grant applications.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; additional local languages are a plus.
