ICT Support Technician and GPS Controller

Job Description:

The ICT Support Technician is responsible for maintaining the organization’s computer systems, ensuring they run efficiently and securely, managing and monitoring GPS systems used in field operations to ensure accurate tracking and efficient use of resources. The role includes providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting end-users with IT-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues in a timely manner.
• Support staff in the use of various computer systems and applications.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, and support requests.
• Perform regular system updates, backups, and virus scans.
• Monitor and maintain network performance and security.
• Collaborate with other departments to assess and fulfill IT needs.
• Monitor GPS tracking systems to ensure proper function and data accuracy.
• Analyze GPS data to improve route efficiency and operational planning.
• Respond to alerts and anomalies in tracking systems.
• Provide reports on fleet or equipment location, usage, and performance.
• Maintain and update GPS software and hardware.
• Train staff on the correct use of GPS tracking tools.
• Coordinate with field teams to verify location data and ensure compliance with company protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information System, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of hardware systems, networking protocols, and security practices.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
