Network Specialist – Data Center

BitCity Data Center Services is seeking an experienced Network Specialist to design, implement, and maintain our on-premises data center network infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of our network operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure for the data center.
  • Configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls, and network security appliances.
  • Ensure network redundancy and high availability to minimize downtime.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Implement firewalls, VPNs, VLAN segmentation, and access controls.
  • Monitor network security and respond to potential threats or breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices for network security and operational stability.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth usage, and system logs.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date network documentation and topology maps.
• Collaboration & Support:
  • Work closely with electrical engineers and IT teams to optimize connectivity.
  • Support integration of network components with power distribution and cooling systems.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (preferably in a data center, ISP, or enterprise setting).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and switching.
• Experience configuring and managing network devices.
• Familiarity with firewall policies, VPN setups, and network access control.
• Understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, and PoE systems.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools.
• Ability to analyze network logs and packet captures for troubleshooting.
