About EPS and the Project

The Ethiopian Pediatric Society (EPS) is a voluntary association committed to advancing child health in Ethiopia. EPS, with the sub-grant obtained from EngenderHealth is implementing the Integrated RMNCH + PPFP Scale-Up Project in high case load facilities. This initiative aims to reduce maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality by increasing the uptake of voluntary FP and integrated RMNCH services at high-caseload facilities across Ethiopia.

EPSโ€™s role focuses on strengthening the FP/RMNCH-N continuum of care, fostering integrated service delivery, and catalyzing scale-up efforts.

Job Description:

The Implementation Officer will lead the execution of project activities at high-caseload facilities, ensuring seamless integration of Newborn care, including KMC, and FP services within RMNCH care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide and coordinate mentorship and technical support to facility staff.
  • Coordinate facility-level activities, including KMC and FP integration.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for HCWs to improve RMNCH+PPFP service delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to facility staff.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor implementation progress and address challenges.
  • Work together with Program learning and M&E officer to learn from the ongoing activities and to continuously improve project implementation approaches
  • Required Qualifications and Skills:

REPORTS TO: Project Manager

Duration of Work: 1 year with possible extension based on performance and funding

Tentative Start Date: Immediately

Number of Posts: 1

Station: Addis Ababa, with frequent travel to high-caseload health facilities

Education:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in health science required with at least two years of experience in the area of RMNCH or FP services.

Skills:

  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in electronic data collection software such as ODK, kobo
  • Skilled in data interpretation, communication, and use for service improvementย 
  • Experience in mentoring and on-the-job training.
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian health systems and service delivery models.
